Blue me away

Just an embedded video today — three years old and no doubt known to everyone else already, but new to me yesterday. I’m a sucker for this kind of combination of wit, originality, and message:

Share with the kids. Mine loved it.

  1. It hit me watching this: religion provides that “emergency exit”!

  2. That was great Dale. My kids and I watched it this morning and then watched more of their videos. I saw the Blue Man Group in Boston over 10 years ago. They are amazing! This is Deb Perkins, by the way, I added myself to your blog today.

Quite so. Among the fundles it provides an incentive for complacency that I can’t share. Fortunately the moderate denoms are (finally) beginning to hit the “stewardship” theme more vigorously.

  5. Btw Dale, did you happen to notice to whom the the gay bishop might direct his national inauguration prayer? He says it’s from 12-step programs, “to the god of our many understandings” — new one on me.

  6. Yeah my 8yr old boy really liked it. He wants to make one like it!

I’ve been really enjoying this blog, especially the questions that children pose and the clarity with which they see things.

Here is my example- My son was 5, driving to day care with me and he asks- ‘Dad, how did the first person get borned when there was no-one to born them?’ (sic)

Me (silent for a while due to early hour fuzzy head)- ‘Well, thats an interesting question, it’s a little like the question about the chicken and the egg.”

I explained the age old question of what came first, the chicken or the egg.

My boy was silent for a minute or two, then flashed me an impish grin, ‘Dad,’ he says, ‘I think that the first person came out of an egg laid by something else…’

Needless to say, I felt very pround of my boy at that moment, He had neatly and without any prompting formulated an idea about evolution, and it had never even occurred to him to include some kind of ‘creator figure’ Go Son!!

I know this is off-topic but I couldn’t find anywhere to put a general comment like this. Anyway, thanks for all your effort, your blog is one of my favourites 🙂
